All Levels Yoga Flow Class

​

This class offers a flowing style of yoga at a gradual to moderate pace for beginners through advanced practitioners. Breath and movement are linked together in a sequence of poses for a moving meditation experience. Warm up stretches and breathing techniques prepare the body for sitting, lying, kneeling, twisting and standing poses. Safe alignment of the spine and major joints of the body receives in depth consideration. Suggestions and cues for variations in every pose encourage a balance of challenge and accessibility. Mindfulness exercises and themes help you achieve a more relaxed state on and off your mat. Discover a mind body connection to develop physical and mental flexibility, inner and outer strength and a sense of wellbeing!

 

 

Beginner and Fundamentals Flow Yoga Class (Series or Ongoing)

This class introduces new students to the fundamentals of a yoga practice. It also offers a back to basics review for those with experience seeking a slower paced intentional flow. The class deconstructs the components of a yoga flow class and builds a well-rounded understanding of the interconnection of breath, movement and mindfulness. There is opportunity for questions and guided assistance. Students learn to use props to adjust the practice to their body’s needs, attain postural alignment and release stress. Grow confidence to progress to an all levels yoga flow class or to initiate a home yoga practice. Or keep coming to Beginner Yoga for the benefit of detailed cues and directed assistance.  Experience the benefits of yoga in a safe, fun, and nurturing environment!

Chair Yoga Flow Class

​

This class is suitable for students of all levels from those who have conditions requiring the assistance of a chair for support to those seeking a portable practice for smaller spaces. Learn poses, stretches and mindfulness meditation techniques that can be practiced anywhere; at your desk, dining room table or kitchen counter! Like any prop, a chair brings the floor up to your hands and adjusts the poses to your body. Warm up with seated stretches and seated sun salutations, advance to standing variations of all traditional yoga flow poses and wind down with seated poses. Class concludes with a resting period of Savasana. All standing poses may be practiced on a chair as needed. Variations of poses throughout class for accessibility and safety are encouraged. On and off your chair, explore yoga’s benefits including moving meditation, flexibility, strength, and balance!

Private or Semi-Private Classes include:

  • Personalized instruction in techniques to increase breath awareness and breath control for energy or relaxation.

  • Traditional yoga poses and stretches adapted to your physical and emotional needs.

  • A customized yoga flow or series of poses designed for your goals.

  • Yoga on a mat, on a chair at the wall, at the kitchen counter or in bed. 

  • Props may include yoga blocks, yoga straps, bolsters, pillows, blankets or towels.

  • Guided mindfulness and meditation techniques such as breath centered meditation, mantras, affirmations and progressive muscle relaxation.

  • Yoga philosophy and teaching applied to everyday life.
